Pest control is not an NSCB trade. Under NRS 555.280, no natural person may engage in pest control for hire without an applicator license from the Director of Agriculture, and no person or business may operate a pest control business without a business license. NRS 555.285 separately requires a license to inspect for, report on, or bid on wood-destroying pest work.
Fees are set in NAC 555.397: $250 for the business license, $50 for each principal, operator, agent or specialist license, and $50 per initial exam ($35 to retake). Business licenses expire December 31 every year, and the business must carry at least $50,000 in public liability and property damage insurance (NRS 555.330).
The state sets the license floor; the county or city permit office controls filing, inspections, and local rules wherever the job site sits.
Pest control licensing is exclusively state — the Department of Agriculture — and the NSCB has no role. Cities and counties may require a general business license where the company is based.
