Framing is construction and therefore contracting under chapter 18.27 RCW. A framing crew registers as a specialty contractor with a $15,000 surety bond, liability insurance of $200,000 public liability plus $50,000 property damage or $250,000 combined single limit, and $150.20. The state asks for no carpentry exam, no apprenticeship and no continuing education.
